Governed by the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission, better known as the WVSSAC, and supported by the Super Six Committee, the Super Six is the West Virginia high school football championship games. What starts out with 48 teams in post season play culminates on December 1 & 2 when the top 2 two teams from each of the three classes (based on size) meet for the championship games. For the 2007 Super Six Football Championships, games will be held at the Wheeling Island Stadium located in Wheeling, West Virginia. The stadium, which is the home field of Wheeling Park High School, has a 'Pro Grass' synthetic playing surface and seats 10,200 with additional room for some 2000 standing room only. |
This years schedule is as follows: Friday November 30, 2007 - 7:30 PM Class AA Championship Game Saturday December 1, 2007 - 12 Noon Class AAA Championship Game Saturday December 1, 2007 - 7:00 PM Class A Championship Game
Wheeling is located 60 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, Pa and 120 miles east of Columbus, OH. Interstate 70 is the major East-West highway through town and West Virginia Route 2 is the major North-South highway. To get to the stadium take the westbound exit off of I-70 onto Wheeling Island or cross the suspension bridge at 10th and Main Streets from downtown. From either bridge, turn left and go to the extreme south end of Wheeling Island following signs to the Wheeling Island Gaming Center. Suggested parking is in the Wheeling Island Gaming Center parking lot, which is directly across the street from the stadium. |
